The Local History Room gives an overview over the 300-year long history of the town of Dessau, from the fist beginnings of the village to the incorporation of the town and present day.
The establishment of the factory Junkers Werke in Alten (1906) is of special interest. Here, machines such as the notorious aeroplanes were developed and built as well as engines and mainly gas heaters.
Visitors have access to this information through illustrated charts, photos, and models and historic documents from the planes its elf.
