Membership

Membership According to 3 of the MV Articles
  1. Museums in the State of Sachsen-Anhalt (Germany) may be full members.
  2. Full personal membership is open to the employees and former employees of the museums in Sachsen-Anhalt as well as volunteers of museums in Sachsen-Anhalt, which are staffed only with volunteers.
  3. Associate membership is open to private or juridical individuals, who are are interested in the museums of Sachsen-Anhalt and are willing to support them.
  4. Application for membership has to be made to the Secretary (Addresses). The chairperson decides about the acceptance of a member.
  5. Personal membership is documented with a membership card, which authorizes the member to gain access to museums that belong to the MV free of charge.
  6. All members recognize the articles of the MV as binding.

Dues
The MV levies annual membership dues. The amounts are determined by the general meeting. According to the fee schedule of 2014, the following dues apply:
  1. Personal members: 25.00 EUR
  2. Museums without permanently staff: 30 EUR
  3. Museums with up to 5 permanent employees: 50.00 EUR
  4. Museums and other corporate members with more than 6 and up to 20 permanent employees or regional authorities per associated museum: 100.00 EUR
  5. Museums and other corporate members with 21 and up to 49 permanent employees or regional authorities per associated museum: 200.00 EUR
  6. Museums and other corporate members with 50 and more permanent employees or regional authorities per associated museum: 300.00 EUR

The Museum Association

The Museum Association Saxony-Anhalt

The Museum Association, which was founded in 1990, is supported by the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt. In accordance with its statutes of association, it has assumed the further training and provision of advice to museum staff. At the same time it functions as a consultant and expert for state and municipal organisations.

The exchange of information is facilitated by means of special working groups and the association's journal.

In this regard on behalf of its members, the Museum Association represents their interests vis-à-vis the general public and other parties, as well as with municipal and state offices.

The Museum Association maintains and seeks contacts with other museum associations for the purpose of exchanging information and experiences.
