Zerbst

Butterjungfer Druckerpresse Barocksaal
Butterjungfer
The museum is situated in the cloisters and rooms of a former monastery from the 13th century, which had been the national library of the region Anhalt since 1582.
It shows the historical development of the town Zerbst from its ancient history up to the modern era.
As a part of the project with the title "Together we are Saxony Anhalt" in which different museums take part, the issues "Reformation" and "History of Education" are given much room. An exhibition in the hall of a baroque building in the street Schlossfreiheit is reminiscent of the Russian tsarina Katharina II who was from the principality Anhalt - Zerbst.
