Museum Synagoge Gröbzig
This museum is a unique complex of buildings consisting of a synagogue, parish hall, school and cemetery. It is an authentic evidence of the former Jewish parish Gröbzig. The historical complex of buildings, especially the synagogue from the 18th century, is used for various events, special exhibitions to the theme "Art in Jewish context" or theatre productions.
The cultural-historical, permanent exhibition has been arranged in the former parish hall’s upper floor. This, the Jewish school and the synagogue’s women’s gallery are the three domains of the permanent exhibition. It concentrates on the presentation of the German-Jewish history from the 17th/18th to the 19th century. The provincial-rural Judaism in Saxony-Anhalt and in the middle-German area is considered by the example of the town Gröbzig.
