Palace Harzgerode

restaurierter Westflügel von Westen Schlossinnenhof Schwarze Küche aus dem 16. Jahrhundert Kabinett Alexisbad

In the mid-16th century, Prince George III had the Harzgerode Castle built completely anew as a fortified castle of the early modern period. Today, it is a one-of-a-kind monument to the castle-building style of Anhalt and Central Germany. The castle contains an exhibition dealing with mining sciences and the history of the town, as well as the Wilhelm Otto exhibition in the tower room. Other visitor highlights include the ballroom, the Baroque wall paintings, the fireplace lounge and the battlements with artistic Mägdesprung cast iron.
