The museum of the district Bördekreis is located in a former castle complex. The castle tower, whose lower parts with arched floors, remarkable fire places and a stairway from the Romanesque period come, belong to the museum tour. The exhibition gives insights into the living conditions in the area of the Magdebuger Börde, that could be found in typical half-timbered houses with rustic-style room and black kitchen at the beginning of the 19th century. Rural robe and utility goods of this epoch add the imagination of this time. Gadgets from mills, breweries and rural trade explain important aspects of processing corn. The exhibition presenting agricultural machines shows tractors and a complete set of a steam plough consisting of two locomobiles, tipping plough, harrow, grubber and personal carrier as the most important exhibit. In a park-like herb garden, an antiquated botanical garden for old and living useful plants with 400 different types, a historical summer house invites to a rest during the tour.
