Gothic House

Wörlitz

Gotisches Haus
The "Gothic House", one of the most beautiful examples of the Neo-Gothic style, was built from 1773 onwards. Apart from the private rooms of the Prince it also housed his collections. Although the inspiration for the building comes from England, a Venice church served as an example for the canal front. The garden front takes patterns from the style of the Tudor Gothic style. Swiss artistic glass works from the 15th - 17th century and paintings which are partly from the Orange estate belong to the precious works of art in the interior of the building.
